Savannah Stopover holds poster contest

For a sixth year, the Savannah Stopover music festival presents over 100 bands to perform March 10-12 at many venues throughout downtown Savannah. The coordinators invite visual and graphic artists nationwide to each submit an individually designed poster for one of the bands in the lineup. The official lineup has been posted online and can be found on their website.
Ten posters chosen allows for a total of 10 finalists whose work will be displayed at an exhibit at the event, and in the end there will be prizes for the top three winners.
The criteria and requirements for the poster designs include: both the Art Rise Savannah and Savannah Stopover logos (with each being at least 2 inches wide), the dates of the festival (March 10-12), the website URL (savannahstopover.com), the full title of the festival and selected band name; and finally, submissions must be submitted in a vertical format and saved as a PDF. They must be 18×24 inches with full bleed (no border) at 300 dpi.
The artist to be awarded first place receives a featured interview with Editor-in-Chief of Savannah Art Informer Kayla Goggin, two three-day festival passes and a $75 gift certificate to Starlandia Creative Supply. The artist to be awarded second place receives one three-day festival pass, a gift basket from Starlandia and a $50 gift certificate to Starland Cafe. The artist to be awarded third place receives one single day festival pass, a gift basket from Starlandia and a $25 gift certificate to Starland Cafe.
The deadline for all submissions is Monday, Feb. 19, and will be judged by a panel of local artists, designers and festival organizers. The most fitting and aesthetically pleasing posters will be announced on March 10 at the Opening Night Event of the Festival at Ships of the Sea’s North Garden.
