SCAD updates bus schedules for 2017-2018 year
Buses are a great way to get around the SCAD campus. The 2017-2018 school year features a few updates to the system that will potentially speed up the system. As a general rule of thumb during class times expect limited buses, transit will have more buses operating for pickup and drop off for classes.
Red Hive is a new route Monday through Thursday the Hive will feature new bus stops which includes direct routes to the foundations buildings. This includes an Anderson Express, Wallin Express and Arnold Express. The direct routes will run for hour long intervals starting at 7:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The buses will run one final time at this stop at 10:30 p.m. Outside of these hour-long windows, one bus will loop all the foundation buildings, Anderson, Wallin, Arnold and return to the Hive.
The regular Red route will operate stopping at Turner, O-House, Anderson, Wallin and Arnold. On Monday through Friday these buses will loop starting at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the red route will begin at 10:00 a.m. and run until 12:30 a.m.
Red Express has updated its stops and operating times. The bus will loop between Anderson, Wallin and Arnold. The Red Express will operate at hour long intervals starting at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. At 10:00 p.m. the bus will loop until 11:30 p.m.
There will not be an O-House Red this year.
Without the Terrace, the Orange route should operate faster this year. The bus stops include Barnard Village, Montgomery, Gulfstream, Arnold and Eckburg. This bus will loop Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. The bus will also run on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m.
The Yellow route features a new stop this year by stopping at Turner, O-House, Eckburg, Barnard Village, Montgomery, Gulfstream and Boundary Village. On Mondays through Fridays the buses will run from 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday the bus will run from 10:00 a.m. until 12:45 a.m.
The Blue route will be stopping at Turner, O-House, Hamilton/Adler, Alexander, Fahm, return to Turner, and then Savannah Film Studio. The bus will run Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday the bus will run from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. The blue route will also feature a bus names Blue SFS which will run the opposite direction of the regular blue bus during the same time Mondays through Thursday.
The Green route stops include Turner, Crites /Eichberg/Museum of Art, O-House, Pulaski, Poetter/Haymans/Security/Morris, Pepe, Eckburg and Boundary Village. The bus will run Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 12:45 a.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Purple route runs from Turner, O-House, Jen Library, Norris, Clarence Thomas Center and Poetter/Haymans/Morris/Security. On Monday through Friday the bus will run from 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m.
The Equestrian bus will run from Turner to the Barn Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:15 p.m.
The Library Express goes to Arnold and Jen Library Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m.
The Silver route stops at Boundary Village, Turner, O-House, Student Center, Jen Library and Kroger seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. until midnight.
The Shopping route will be stopping at Turner, O-House, Oglethorpe Mall, Lowes/Home Depot and Savannah Mall. On Friday and Saturday the bus will run from 1:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. On Sunday the bus will run from 1:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
