First Friday, originally started in 2000 by former SCAD students, is an event dear to Savannahians and SCAD students alike. On the first Friday of each month, businesses in the Starland District host pop-ups, offer specials and showcase local art. The event is put on to spotlight small businesses and local artists as well as to encourage people to shop small. Food, drinks, shops, art and shows are enjoyed by locals and tourists throughout the day.

Businesses like Starland Yard, Two Tides Brewing Company, Vintage Vortex and many others participate in the event. After the height of the pandemic put a pause on First Fridays for over a year, Savannahians are thrilled to celebrate small businesses once again. The event has grown exponentially since it started back up last year.

The next First Friday event will take place on Nov. 4. Stay in the loop by following @starlandfirstfridays on Instagram.
