Last night at 10 p.m. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department reported two pedestrians were struck by a small pick up truck at the corners of Bull Street and Oglethorpe Ave. The two pedestrians are delegates in town for the Swedish Trade conference and were crossing the street on a tour of the city.
The unnamed driver stopped immediately, one of the delegates was transported to Memorial University Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, the second pedestrian was also transported for more serious injuries, and later succumbed to the injuries.
Two deans from SCAD were to meet with delegates this week to work on a possible partnership with Vaxjo University. No report on the status of the meetings has been made yet.
Names have not yet been released by SCMPD.
