Take your on campus Thanksgiving break to the next level! SCAD has created numerous events for students to participate in, across almost all majors.
“The purpose of the events is to engage students that stay in Savannah over Thanksgiving holiday and provide unique workshops and events designed to help students prepare for their final projects,” stated Dean of Students, David Blake.

‘How to Think Differently: Practical Tools for Being Creative’ lecture
Hosted by Victor Ermoli, dean of the School of Design and executive director of eLearning

This interactive lecture will transform how students view the world, moving from simply seeing to truly observing what’s around them. Students will learn the technique of reframing as an immediate source for creative solutions.
‘The Ideas and Details’ talk

This talk explores the importance of observing the world around you and looking for the small details in life that just might inspire the next big idea for an advertising campaign. Healing through art at Memorial Hospital

Digital oil painting techniques workshop

Participate in an incredibly engaging gaming competition held in Montgomery Hall, featuring more than 100 computers in rooms 207, 209 and 211. The professors will choose a game, and students will compete individually or in teams depending on the game that is selected.

A shuttle will loop between The Hive and Daffin Park before and after the 4-mile run / walk. SCAD is sponsoring registration for all students, faculty and staff. Registration is required.
Thanksgiving feast

Byte Café, 3515 Montgomery St.
Bon Appétit, a leader in sustainable food service, will prepare a savory spread. Students are welcome to submit a favorite family side dish or dessert recipe to events@scad.edu. Bon Appétit will serve a select few during the feast. The meal is open to all students with a SCAD Card.

Buses will operate regular Friday schedule in addition to two extra shuttles looping all residence hall to the Pooler area (Tanger Outlet Mall and movie theaters).
