That’s right – this is the final printed issue of District. That’s not to say student-produced newspaper content won’t be available at SCAD anymore. We’re just making the permanent, inevitable move to a purely Web-based format at www.nathanielholland.com/district. Here’s why: It benefits you, the reader. Eliminating our weekly print deadline will allow us, your loyal editors and reporters, to provide more effective breaking news, and more comprehensive story coverage. No longer will the burden of sending something to the printing press influence the content you receive.
Our Web site will serve as the student news source at SCAD, featuring daily content updates, all-color images, interactive comment boards, and photo, audio and video content. Print media is sadly being obsolesced by the Internet. We’re jumping ahead. If you still want paper between your fingers, we’ll be producing a new quarterly magazine that will focus on arts and literature soon.
