Student Involvement and the United Student Forum will be conducting the last voter registration drive on Oct. 5 at The Hive.
Director of Student Involvement Trey Reckling has urged students to register to vote, providing registration forms since the “Films in Forsyth” event in during the spring.
“We don’t want anyone to miss that opportunity,” said Reckling. “Certainly, it’s going to be frustrating for the people who come in in a couple of weeks and say, ‘Oh, I forgot to register! How do I do that now?’ So that’s why we’ve started early.”
With the election only a few weeks away, campuses across the nation have seen droves of students beginning to campaign throughout school grounds. Some have even seen these campaign rallies become violent and combative. But Reckling doesn’t expect to see the same level of aggression at SCAD.
“It goes back to our appreciation of diversity. Not just of people, but of opinions. So I definitely give full credit to our students for that.”
