Just a year ago, I needed to print my CTXT 121 syllabus prior to the first class and had no idea where to print it. That’s why this is your one-stop article to navigate where to print anything that needs printing! At the start of each quarter, students are provided with a $25 printing budget. If you exceed this budget, you will have to refill the account with your own money.
Below you can find a list of some of the best and most common printers, but you can access a full list of technology resources through the SCAD mobile app (SCAD > More > Technology Resources).
Printers for classwork, homework and readings
Where to find the best printers for black-and-white copies.
The Most Reliable: Jen Library
The printers on the first and second floors print in black and white. You can find printers with colored ink on the third floor of the library.
The Most Convenient: Arnold Hall
Arnold Hall, a hall for general education classes, has both black-and-white and color printers located in rooms 152A and 152B. Room 163A also has a black-and-white-only printer.
The Best Location: SCAD Museum of Art
Just up the hill from the Hive and Turner, the SCAD MOA has a color printer in room 222. However, this is also used as a classroom. Be sure to go in between classes to avoid interrupting class.
Printers for graphic design and posters
Where to find the best printers for graphic design and posters.
The Most Reliable: Fahm Hall
The SCAD Lab located at Fahm Hall offers professional printers. In order to print something, you will have to submit through their portal for approval prior to pick up. It is also worth noting that you will not be able to use the $25 printing budget at the SCAD Lab. However, the quality and reliability of the printers are worth the wait and extra price.
The Best Location: Clark Hall
Right next to the SCAD MOA, Clark Hall offers an HP plotter and black-and-white printer, located in room 106. Before use, make sure to check the class schedule to avoid interrupting classes.
The Most Convenient: Wallin Hall
Wallin Hall, a hall for foundation classes, offers a plotter for printing large items. The plotter is located in room 102. Again, check the schedule of classes in this room and be courteous.
