The box does a good job of masking this insanely delicious treat. Had I been picked to design McDonald’s apple pie box, it would have been a gold-plated sleeve—kind of like what Pop Tarts come in—with a little viewing window made of clear plastic.
But, to give credit to the Golden Arches, there is truth in the packaging. No, Mom didn’t have time to bake me a pie. Yes, that is why I’m at McDonald’s at 1 a.m. in search for a snack. And my stomach thanks you, Ronald, you really delivered this time. I’ll accept the lame packaging, so long as I can keep the prize inside.
