Preservation Week
The Student Preservation Association’s (SPA) annual Preservation Week will occur from Sunday, May 4 to Friday, May 9. The week will be filled with lectures, receptions and opportunities for students to interact with professionals. The opening reception will be a “hard hat party” at 5 p.m. at the Kennedy Pharmacy Building, 323 E. Broughton St. Cuffy Sullivan, a 1986 SCAD historic preservation graduate and founder of SPA, will give a lecture at the reception. Remaining lectures will be given May 5-7 at 7 p.m., and May 9 at 1 p.m., at the River Club, 3 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Savannah Film Festival Call For Entries
The Savannah Film Festival seeks student work for its 2008 show. The Silver Screen Foundation will also hold a competition during the show that will award two grants to the winning student. The Silver Screen Foundation Student Writing Grant will award $4,000 annually to a student who fulfills certain requirements, and the Short Film Grant will be given to a student whose short film wins a popular vote of members of the Silver Screen Foundation. Frank Gehry lecture
Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry will speak on Monday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. Gehry’s work includes the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Dancing House in Prague and own home. Gehry is a Distinguished Professor at Columbia University and a visiting professor at Yale University.
