Downtown Savannah will look stylish and lively tonight on September 6 when the city will host its second Fashion’s Night Out, bringing high-style, live music and art to Broughton Street.
25 local retailers are participating in the event, some providing an exclusive outdoor runway with garments from their collections.
The city will close off Broughton Street from Whitaker to Drayton so pedestrian shoppers can move around on foot to see what the event has to offer. Last year, four thousand people were in attendance. This year’s turnout is anticipated to be even larger.
Live music at this year’s event will include a performance by SCAD-born band Triathalon. When asked about anticipation of SCAD student turnout to this year’s show event coordinator Doug Ordway expressed his excitement for SCAD student attendance.
“We feel that Triathalon’s talent, energy, and enthusiasm will add to the event,” said Ordway. “We are very confident that they will pull off an amazing performance. The fact that they have a huge SCAD following should only add to SCAD’s students desire to attend FNO.”
Ordway also mentioned that the Savannah FNO team desires for students to show up and hopes for their involvement in the event for years to come.
“We anticipate a large number of SCAD students attending the event. We would love for as many SCAD students as possible to be involved with this event, as well as other productions in the works by my sister companies (CrazyHorseSavannah Productions and Rise Model Management).”
