Are you interested in winning a free class at SCAD? I think we all are! Luckily, the Foundation Studies Portfolio Award (FSPA) presents us with this exciting opportunity. If you are an undergraduate student with less than 71 credit hours or are currently in a foundations course, you are eligible to compete in this contest. As a result, you have the chance to get your work presented in a virtual exhibition, receive a $100 Ex Libris voucher or win a tuition scholarship for one class.
We all know that foundation classes can push us to new levels and allow us to try art forms we may not be familiar with. Although this can be challenging at times, it is also extremely rewarding. Through the FSPA, SCAD wants to recognize the hard work that students put into their foundation classes. Whether it’s design or drawing, SCAD wants to see all of the amazing work that students do in their first few quarters.
Submitting your foundation portfolio is as easy as can be! All you have to do is submit an unofficial transcript and five original pieces of art from your foundation classes. The details of what to include with your work can be found on MySCAD. Everyone is able to submit now until February 3. If you have any specific questions, you can email the Foundations Exhibition Committee at foundations-exhibitions@scad.edu. Make sure to get your work in and show off your foundation skills!
