Whether you’ve heard about it through the grapevine or happened across it on a stroll downtown, the new Press Cafe has never made a study session more cozy and delicious.

“A lot of SCAD spaces and dining halls don’t give you the same sense of comfort that you get here,” says Victoria, a SCAD student and Press cafe regular.

Students, staff and the Savannah community are welcome and encouraged to enjoy everything the new space has to offer. From muffins to mochas and mancala to magazines, the curation of this gorgeous new space is live-work-play come to life.

If you’re in need of fresh inspiration for a new project, there are plenty of comfy chairs to sit in as you flip through pages of GQ and Marie Claire.

Tired of being confined to your dorm for online classes? Set up to lock in at the spacious but minimal table in the window. Complete with a lamp and an outlet, you’ll always want to have your camera on.

Or–let’s be real–maybe you and your friends just need a place to relax in between midterms and finals. Settle into a booth and play a few rounds of Catan Expansion or Everdell to ease your mind.

Located off of Jen Library’s Gustiein Gallery and open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, Press is where creativity and community meet. The sheer variety of ways to enjoy SCAD’s new edition while having the resources of the library nearby is what keeps students like Victoria coming back. The only thing that makes this lush space even better?

The menu.

Better still, in addition to regular card payments, SCAD students can use dining dollars or a meal plan to pay for their order–yes, you read that right.

In a perfect collaboration with the local Auspicious Bakery, Press offers a rotating selection of fresh pastries and baked goods like pain au chocolat, red velvet cupcakes and, my personal favorite, cheese danishes. Some of their drink options include lattes, hot chocolate and a variety of herbal teas.

What menu item does our Press expert recommend to those coming to try out the space and sample the menu for the first time?

“The cinnamon bun,” Victoria says. “I love the cinnamon bun.”
