College Security Report: July 29-Aug. 4, 2008
July 30
12:15 p.m.—A SCAD student reported to security that that someone had taken her bike from the bike rack at Morris Hall. She stated that she had left the bike at the bike rack at 8:30 a.m. and that the bike was gone when she returned at 12:15 pm. She could not remember whether she had locked the bike. Police responded to the scene and generated a report.
11:02 p.m.— A guest at Pulaski House, notified security that she had been struck in the stomach with an Airsoft pellet while walking through the church parking lot next to Pulaski House. The suspects were three unknown white males, driving by in a white pick up truck. Police responded to the scene and generated report. The guest did not wish to have EMS response.
11:38 p.m.—Security noticed a burning odor in Room 140 of Gulfstream Center. The operations manager responded to the scene, but was unable to determine the cause of the odor. A staff member responded to the scene and stated that the odor was most likely caused by a burned out bulb and that he would notify an electrician.
July 31
1:33 a.m.—A SCAD student reported to security that his car had been damaged while it was parked in the Eckburg Hall parking lot. He stated that he had parked the car at 8 a.m. on July 30 and that his windshield had been broken before his return at 1 a.m. on July 31. Police responded to the scene generated a report
4 p.m.— A white male attempted to gain access to the Jen Library after being banned from the library the day before. The man refused to leave and called the police. Police and security responded to the scene. The man was arrested for trespass and transported by police.
Aug. 1
5:10 a.m.—Security responded to a call box alarm at Old Arch. Upon investigation the alarm was determined to be a false alarm.
Aug. 2
5:48 p.m.— The mother of SCAD student called security to ask if there was emergency housing available for her son. She stated that her son’s apartment was without electricity and that he needed a place to stay. Security contacted the on call manger, who said he would take care of the situation.
Aug. 3
2 p.m.— A SCAD student notified security that an unknown black male slapped her on her chest and said, “what’s up,” while she was walking on Broughton Street. Police responded to her apartment to take a report. She did not request medical assistance.
5:54 p.m. — Security discovered the back door to Corbin Hall to be unsecured. Security conducted a patrol of the building and secured the door.
