January 18
2:47 a.m. — A student reported a burn injury to security. EMS responded to the scene, but the student was not transported.
3:01 a.m. — Security responded to an alarm at the Equestrian Center. Security met the fire department at the scene and it was determined that the alarm was a false alarm. Sonitrol was notified that the alarm was malfunctioning and a work order was issued to have the system checked.
10:50 a.m. — Security responded to a vehicle accident at Barnard Village involving two student vehicles. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
11 a.m. — Security responded to a vehicle accident in front of Weston/Dyson involving two student vehicles. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
2:57 p.m. — A SCAD employee reported to security that he had been receiving threats via e-mail and text from an enrolled student that was not currently taking classes. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report. The employee stated that he had already notified college management.
January 19
10:06 a.m. — Security responded to a vehicle accident in front of Barnard Village involving a student and a non-student vehicle. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
9:20 p.m. — Security responded to Boundary Village regarding a student vehicle striking the entrance gate arm. A security officer stated that the student failed to stop at the booth and struck the gate arm. There was no damage to the vehicle and the gate arm appeared to be undamaged.
January 20
8:31 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm activation at Boundary Village. The alarm was caused by a student cooking in the room. The alarm was silenced and reset.
9:51 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Gulfstream Center. A student cut his finger with a box cutter while working on a project. Prior to security’s arrival, a professor transported the student to the “clinic”. Security notified the on-call manager.
January 21
11:58 p.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm at Crites Hall. A patrol of the building was conducted and no problems were discovered. A work order was called in to have the system checked.
January 22
7:26 a.m. — Security responded to the report of a damaged fence near Dyson Field. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene. Police believed the damage had been caused by a vehicle in the Weston lot. The possible vehicle was identified but the owner of the vehicle was not located.
10:11 a.m. — Security received a call from a SCAD parent requesting to speak with an on-call counselor regarding her daughter. Security passed on the parent’s contact information to the counselor.
4:35 p.m. — Security responded to a smoke detector activation at Abercorn Terrace. Security met Savannah Fire Department at the scene. It was determined that the alarm was caused by steam from the shower.
8:35 p.m. — Security responded to a smoke detector activation at Barnard Village. Security met Savannah Fire Department at the scene. It was determined that the alarm was caused by steam from the shower.
11:11 p.m. — Security responded to a door alarm at the Trustees Theater. Security discovered all of the front doors unsecured. A patrol of the building was conducted and nothing out of the ordinary was discovered. Security locked the front doors.
January 23
2:10 a.m. — Savannah-Chatham Metro Police dropped off an intoxicated student at the Weston/Dyson booth. Officers stated they found the student in a bad area of town and that he requested a ride home. Security escorted the student to his dorm and notified the resident director of the situation.
9 a.m. — Security responded to multiple “trouble” alarms at Habersham Hall. Security conducted a patrol of the building but no problems were discovered. A work order was placed with Sonitrol to have the system checked.
12:32 p.m. — Security responded to an alarm activation at Abercorn Terrace. Security met Savannah Fire Department at the scene. It was determined that the alarm was caused by steam from the shower.
11:50 p.m. — A security officer reported that a male in a Mustang pulled next to her vehicle while she was driving on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The male proceeded to stick out his tongue and masturbate before driving off. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene but did not issue a crime report.
