College Security Report May 23-30, 2011

May 23

7:30 a.m. — Security discovered graffiti damage on the rear stairs of the Dyson House 5000 building. Security notified maintenance for clean up.

 

6:19 p.m. — Sonitrol notified security of a rear lobby door alarm at Trustees Theater. Security conducted a tour of the building and could found nothing out of the ordinary. The alarm silenced itself by the time security arrived.

May 24

9:30 a.m. — Security responded to a pull station activation at the woodshop in Eichberg Hall. It was determined that a student accidentally bumped the pull station causing the alarm.

May 25

11:20 a.m. — Security responded to an off-campus vehicle accident involving a SCAD student and a non-SCAD individual. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report. EMS also responded and three non-SCAD individuals were transported to Memorial University Medical Center.

 

11:32 a.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Wallin Hall involving a student that had a seizure. EMS responded the scene but the student declined transport.

 

5:30 p.m. — Security discovered graffiti damage on a rear door of Jen Library. Maintenance was notified of the damage.

 

7:45 p.m. — A student reported to security that someone vandalized the hood of his car with spray paint while it was parked in front of Arnold Hall. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

May 26

5:45 a.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Eichberg Hall involving a student feeling light headed. EMS responded the scene but the student declined transport. The student decided to go to Memorial University Medical Center with a friend.

 

9:44 a.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Crites Hall involving a student having a seizure. EMS responded the scene but the student declined transport. The student stated that he did not have a seizure, but that he has a history of muscle spasms.

 

10:11 a.m. — A student reported to security that his unregistered bike had been stolen from the bike rack at Keys Hall between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on May 2. The student did not wish to file a police report.

 

11:59 a.m. — Security responded to a medical call outside of Club SCAD involving a student that passed out. EMS responded the scene and transported the student to Memorial University Health Center.

 

2:26 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call involving a student who had fallen off his scooter at an off-campus location. The student did not want EMS response.

May 27

11:42 a.m. — A student reported to security that her bike had been stolen from the bike rack at Arnold Hall between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

 

6:46 p.m. — Security discovered an unsecured door at Evans Hall. Security conducted a walk-through of the building and then locked the door.

 

May 28

1:30 p.m. — A student reported to security that the rear tire of his bike had been stolen from a bike rack at Eichberg Hall between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.

 

4:22 p.m. — Security responded to Barnard Village in reference to a student striking the access gate with their vehicle. The student attempted to follow another vehicle into the lot prior to the gate resetting. Security gathered the student’s information to pass along to the college.

 

11:03 p.m. — Dispatch received a call from a student requesting to speak with the on-call counselor. Security called the counselor and forwarded the student’s contact information.

 

May 29

2:30 a.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm activation at Abercorn Terrace. The alarm was determined to be a false alarm and was reset.

 

9:07 a.m. — Security responded to a vehicle accident at Old Arch involving a tour trolley that struck a power line. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene. The savannah Fire Department issued a report.

4:33 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm activation at the Boundary Hall common room. Security met the Savannah Fire Department at the scene where it was determined that students cooking modeling clay in the oven caused the alarm.

11:53 p.m. — Security responded to a pull station activation on the second floor of Turner House. Security met with the Savannah Fire Department at the scene where it was determined that the alarm was false.

 

May 30

10:30 a.m. — A student reported to security that his car had been vandalized while it was parked on Barnard Street between 3 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
