Last year, District launched the first issue of a new magazine. Well, we’ve recently been hard at work on a second issue. This time under the title of Square 95, inspired by the iconic squares in the city of Savannah and the year that District was founded — 1995.
This is the product of six months of collaboration among the staff, writers and talented artists featured within. Each and every one of the stories is important and relevant to our world today — from embracing rejected applications to the need for community in our lives.
Every aspect of this publication was created by a team of about 25 SCAD students. That includes student-made writing, photographs, graphics, illustrations and advertisements. Working in small teams and then coming together to create the final design, Square 95 is a product of strong collaboration among students from an array of backgrounds.
We hope that you take a break from your homework and dive in to these heartfelt, bold stories and enjoy the stunning artwork that accompanies them.
