‘Bookmarked and Dogeared’ Episode Eight: Halle Hill

Hosted by Elise Mullen, Produced by Perrin Smith, with help from Colleen Miller and Meg Aki, Edited by Paige Mathieson, Cover designed by Halle Garrett

“I live by this rule that I think everything is sacred, everything gives me information, everything has something that’s powerful. So, I wake up knowing I’ll find something that’s inspiring,” said Halle Hill, a writer. Hill earned her M.F.A. in writing from SCAD in 2020.

Recently, Hill’s work has been featured in Oxford American and Hobart, with a forthcoming story in Joyland. Her story published in Oxford American won the publication’s 2020 call for debut fiction and was nominated for the PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers.

In this episode of “Bookmarked and Dogeared,” we sit down with Hill to discuss her creative process and what narrows down her search for the perfect publication for a story.

Check back again Saturday, April 10 for the ninth episode of “Bookmarked and Dogeared.”
