Far From Home reception brings students closer
The weather may be unusually cold for spring, but the International Student Services has a special reception guaranteed to raise the temperature here at SCAD.
The ISSO, along with the SCAD Language Studio, are sponsoring the “Far From Home” juried exhibition, featuring artwork created by international students. The exhibit opens Thursday, March 28 and will run until April 10 at the Fahm Hall Gallery.
Professors and staff have judged the works featured in the exhibit and will declare several winners. The best in show will receive a $250 gift card and the four merit awards will receive $100 gift cards each. Amimi Cheng, an illustration student from SCAD Hong Kong won the Invitation Image Award and received a $100 gift card for her work entitled “Hong Kong MTR.”
The ISSO will hold the awards ceremony reception as well as the spring quarter reception at 6 p.m. on March 29. The ISSO will even provide transportation for students living in the residence halls.
The “Far From Home” exhibit and the ISSO spring quarter reception are the perfect kick-starters to heat things up this quarter.
