The Creative Coast, a non-profit organization invites you to “get your geek on” at their annually held, three-day interactive conference “Geekend.”

The conference is held from Oct. 15 through Oct. 17. It targets entrepreneurs, designers, and the general technology savvy nerds, with hopes that they will come and discuss “cutting edge developments and exciting solutions,” according to their website.

This is not the first time “Geekend” has come to Savannah, but this year’s event is different, Executive Director Bea Wray claims because “the topics are current.”

“Virtual reality, healthcare technology and the biggest change this year is the location,” said Wray.

The event will be held at the Guild Hall, a brand new, interactive facility known as the gamerspace of Savannah. It’s located on West Huntingdon Street, not far from the gamer pub known as The Chromatic Dragon. So when attendants are done partying, they can release some more of their inner geek by playing a few video games.

The list of speakers for this year include: John Burke, the founder of True Venture, which funded the company FitBit, and Jaqueline Verdier and Dominic Suszanski, founders of the selfie stick.

Wray wants those who attend “Geekend” to take away something life-changing from the conference.

“Last year our emails flooded in,” said Wray. “There was this huge energy… we had people emailing and thanking us. A person had quit their job and started their own business. Another had invested in a company they saw at ‘Geekend.’ That’s what we want. That your life is different because you embraced life in a different way.”

Early bird tickets are already sold out, but the regular bird and geek curious tickets are still available on a first-come-first serve basis at $250 and $550 respectively. To purchase these tickets or for more information on the event, visit the event’s website or Facebook page.
