Intramural basketball update: February 22

Intramural basketball took place again this Friday at St. Paul’s Gymnasium at 31st and Whitaker streets.

Green Street Elite staged a comeback to beat Campus Bullies 63-54. Campus Bullies were up by 11 at the end of the first half. Taron Jordan for Green Street Elite put up 25 points that game, with captain Jake Green getting 12 rebounds. Campus Bullies’ Marcus Durant led with 20 points. Both their Jordan Dallman and Jarvis Turner landed 10 rebounds.

Old School beat Free Ballin’ by forfeit for the game at noon.

The Korean Student Association (KSA) beat Brick Squad 43-42 with Gene Fu’s last second buzzer beater. Fu led with 19 points, and team captain Ji Hu Geong landed 19 rebounds. Brick Squad captain Hunter Sizemore pulled an impressive 21 points and 13 rebounds that game.

The Chinese Student Association (CSA) beat Tuna Roll 40-30. CSA’s Houliang Huang led with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Tuna Rolls Matt Vaughan put up eight points and Jeffrey Tindi landed nine rebounds. The game was fast-paced with both teams showing skilled ball-handling, but ultimately CSA”s better communication, speed, and teamwork gave them an edge.

Tuna Roll played again beating the Free Agents 68-58. Despite a short comeback, the Free Agents had many missed shots and opportunities. Tuna Roll committed to driving in the paint with Matt Vaughn putting up 22 points and Jeffrey Tindi getting 12 rebounds. Free Agent’s Jon Moody led his team with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
