24-hour Comics Event
Norris Hall, 548 E. Broughton St.
Students take on the international competition to create a self-contained 24-page comic story in 24 hours. Sequential art faculty oversees the event. Food and beverages provided.

A local band hits the Zunzi’s stage with an accordion, marimba, drums and guitar.

SCAD Cinema Circle kicks off their series with Stanley Kubrick’s comedy about the mad General Jack Ripper and his attempt to stop the U.S.S.R. from stealing Americans’ bodily fluids.

Little Tybee
The Sentient Bean, 13 E Park Ave
Rooted in Atlanta Georgia, this band begins their tour of the East Coast at The Bean. A collaboration of piano, percussion, electric guitar, violin, a touch of synth and soothing vocals tell a story with their tunes. $5 suggested donation.

Sunday, October 4
Picnic in the Park
The theme of this year’s annual picnic competition is “Johnny Mercer, The Man and His Songs.” Bring your baskets and finger foods. Costumes are optional. Registration is free, but necessary. Eat, and listen the big band group Picnic in the Park Mercer Band, The Savannah Arts Academy Orchestra, the Skyelite Jazzband, Trae Gurley, Roger Moss, Gina Rene’ and Huxsie Scott starting at 4:30 p.m.
