Savannah-Chatham Metro Police will be out in full force for the May 27 visit of the Westboro Baptist Church.
When the church first rolled through town May 22, there were over 200 officers on duty in the downtown area. While city officials do not expect more than the peaceful demonstrations they saw Sunday, they are once again erring on the side of caution.
The last time WBC came, they mostly focused on churches. This time they will focus on three schools and several places of non-Christian worship. Click here to see an up-to-date list of WBC’s protest schedule.
