Georgia’s famous groundhog, General Beauregard Lee, is predicting an early spring this year, along with other groundhogs across the United States and Canada. Punxsatawney Phil of Punxsatawney, Pa., the groundhog with perhaps the most media coverage, reached the same conclusion, despite blizzard conditions across much of the Midwest and Northeast.
Some of General Beauregard Lee’s furry friends that also predicted an early spring:
- Bruce County, Ontario’s Wiarton Willie
- Sun Praire, Wis.’s Jimmy the Groundhog
- Marion, Ohio’s Buckeye Chuck
Savannah, meanwhile, enjoyed forecasted temperatures of 72 degrees.
