Noah Harpster and Micah Fitzerman-Blue brought a story 10 years in the making to fruition at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival Nov. 2. In ”A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” the two writers advocate for empathy.
Since the film industry carries so much influence, the team aimed to create a film that instills hope in a corrupt world. Harpster and Fitzermam-Blue conveyed that Fred Rogers, children’s TV show host and main character, invites his audience to participate in one small act of kindness.
Following the screening of “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” the writers shared that the movie inspired viewers to call their mothers, resolve conflict with co-workers or practice gratitude in the mundane.
