Not only are most fruits in season during the summer, but they are also good for you and your skin. I chose to give a summer fruit facial a try to see how it helped my skin.
The summer fruit facial that I chose to try out was made with grapes. I chose this recipe because it claimed to be good for sensitive skin. I have extremely sensitive skin, and this mask did not irritate it. I would recommend trying this facial if you have sensitive skin like me.
The recipe didn’t say what color of grapes to use, but I chose to use green grapes. All you need besides a few grapes to make this summer fruit facial is gauze (used to strain the mixture) and a way to mash the grapes; I chose to use a blender.
Check out the recipe for the facial.
According to the seeds benefits website, these are some ways that grapes are good for the skin:
• Acts as a moisturizer
• Corrects uneven complexion
• Lightens scars left behind by acne
• Corrects uneven complexion
• Reduces wrinkles
Tips for applying the mask:
• Make sure to pull hair away from the face. When applying the mask, little bits of grape are rubbed on the skin. These tiny pieces could easily get caught in your hair, and they are sticky, so try to avoid this mess.
• Start with a clean slate, so to speak. Make sure to rinse any make-up off of the face before you apply the facial.
• Make sure to rinse thoroughly. The mask feels sticky after leaving it on your face for a few minutes, so make sure to rinse it off well.
Once I had the grapes blended, the mixture was ready to be strained. I immediately noticed how great the mixture smelled, which made it easier to apply it to my face. Some store bought facials smell so awful and are so thick and creamy that I don’t want to put them on my face. But, this mixture was light and smelled great.
After using the gauze to strain the mixture, I pressed the gauze to my face, massaging in the pieces of grapes that were left behind on the gauze. I left the mask on for 10 minutes.
Once the mask was off, I could tell a difference in how soft my skin was. This attests to the grape’s moisturizing power because my face was definitely nice and smooth after having the mask on. Prior to the mask, my nose had been peeling a little due to sun exposure. After I removed the mask, I noticed that there was much less dry skin on my nose, also proving the moisturizing abilities of this fruit facial.
I would recommend that you try this and other fruit facials, depending on skin type to rejuvenate your skin for summer.
