This hilarious Instagram account calls out bad parking jobs

Parking in Savannah is challenging. Spots are limited and often require skills in parallel parking, which not everyone has. Starting in 2021, an anonymous admin decided to capture bad parking jobs through an Instagram account called @scadshitparking. The account posts photos of poorly parked cars by both SCAD students and SCAD security. With a following of 1,827 people, the creator has remained unknown to protect their identity.

Who could this person be? Is it a student, an alumni turned Savannahian or a faculty member? This question isn’t the only question on people’s minds. While this is probably some lighthearted fun, people have pondered the question: is this an invasion of privacy? The admin does sensor the license plates, so privacy is not at risk. But, the cars can be recognizable, which could still be an invasion of privacy. Finally, how does the admin obtain these pictures? Do people send them in, or do they hunt for bad parking? The admin does encourage followers to send in their own photos, but no one knows how many people are actually doing so.

In my opinion, this account was made for humor and to expose the terrible parking SCAD students and faculty members are capable of, as well as the importance of being courteous to other drivers. Take a scroll through the account to have some laughs and follow to keep up and see if your car is featured on the account.
