UUGH suggests outdoor advertising should be art

By Emory Dunn

Understand & Undo Graphic Harm (UUGH) held a protest Nov. 13 to raise awareness of and bring attention to outdoor advertising the group believes constitutes visual “noise” and environmental pollution. A number of organizations around the country, including the Urban Environment League in Miami, Fla., are taking to the streets and city government chambers to battle outdoor media companies. Photographer Emory Dunn followed UUGH’s first event, led by SCAD graduate, Alex Schaeffer.
