In keeping with one of the signature promises of the Obama Administration, Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced today that the Pentagon will begin easing enforcement of the “don’t ask, don’t tell policy” by raising the threshold for “credible inquiries” into alleged homosexual behavior. This step is the first of several in a year-long process to repeal measures adopted by Congress in 1993 that prohibit homosexuals from serving openly in the military. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, supports legislative repeal.
Senate Republicans forced the U.S. House of Representatives to reconsider recently passed revisions to the new health care laws, citing two violations of congressional rules. House Democrats expected to approve the measure quickly, and expressed that these changes do not affect the reform plan signed into law by President Barack Obama Tuesday.

Women’s tennis holds onto the No. 8 spot in the NAIA’s Top 25 ranking poll. The Bees are 10-1 in the season, and went 4-0 in Florida last week. The team travels to Milledgeville, Ga. on April 11 for a match against Georgia College & State University.
Men’s tennis dropped to No. 22 in the NAIA’s ranking after a 3-7 start to the season.
The Bees’ softball team moved up five positions to No. 18 in the NAIA’s pre-season rankings. Boasting a 21-9 overall record, the Bees return to action March 27, with a noon double-header against Thomas University at the Paulson Softball Complex.
Men’s golf slipped to the No. 3 position in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll with a sixth-place finish at the Eagle Invitational March 14, in Daytona Beach, Fla. Oklahoma City University reclaimed the first place spot. The dip may be short-lived, however, when the Bees travel to the Marine Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate Golf Championship in Jacksonville, N.C. tomorrow.
