As the SCAD Savannah Film Festival kicked off its 2017 lineup, an air of sentimentality hung over the evening reception.
Where did that nostalgia stem from? The film festival celebrating its 20th year.
In the two decades it has been in existence the SCAD Savannah Film Festival has screened over 100 Oscar nominated films, attracted more than 55,000 from all around the globe and honored more than 70 actors, directors, producers writers and filmmakers.
Just this year Georgia was named the top location for feature films in the country. And the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, much like SCAD itself, has put Savannah on the map and brought a variety of well-known guests to Georgia’s first city. This year the film festival is back, bigger and bulkier with 131 screenings and a plethora of guests to honor.
Last night marked the beginning of the festivities with guests such as Holly Hunter, Zoey Deutch, Madelyn Deutch, Lea Thompson and Max Winkler walking the red carpet.
