College Security Report Sept. 6-11, 2011
September 6
6:33 p.m. — Stanley Convergent Security Solutions called dispatch and informed security of an alarm at Trustees Theater. Security responded to the scene but the panel did not indicate an alarm activation. Stanley was notified of the discrepancy.
10:48 p.m. — Security responded to a room of Turner House at the request of a resident director regarding a possible drug policy violation. A student stated that he recently smoked a marijuana cigarette. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police was called at the request of the resident director but could find no marijuana and would not issue a crime report.
September 7
1:01 a.m. — A student flagged down a SCAD supervisor and reported that someone had entered the back door of her off-campus apartment and taken a laptop, wallet and book bag. The individual dropped the items when the student yelled and pursued him. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
10:22 a.m. — A SCAD staff member reported that a computer was missing from Anderson Hall. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
11:10 a.m. — A student reported to security that her bike had been stolen from her off-campus residence. The student stated that she would follow up with security if she decided to file a police report.
11:55 a.m. — Security responded to a fire alarm activation at Abercorn Terrace. Security met the Savannah Fire Department at the scene where it was determined that a student activated the alarm to see if it was working.
8:07 p.m. — Security discovered an unsecured entrance to Boundary Hall. Security completed a patrol of the building and secured the doors.
9:08 p.m. — Security discovered an unsecured door at Boundary Hall. Security completed a patrol of the building and secured the doors.
September 8
11:50 a.m. — Security responded to a smoke alarm activation at a room of Pulaski House. The Savannah Fire Department responded to the scene where it was determined that a student cooking in their room caused the alarm.
September 9
8 p.m. — Security discovered an unsecured front door at “The Spot” pizza shop. Security patrolled the building then secured the door.
8 p.m. — A student reported to security that she lost her cell phone at an off-campus location. The student stated that the GPS tracking on her phone indicated the phone was now in Turner Annex. She was referred to a resident adviser for assistance.
September 10
4:45 p.m. — Security discovered graffiti on the alley door to Poetter Hall. Security notified maintenance of the damage.
