It’s that time of year again. When the best of the best line up at the starting line to one of the greatest races this town has ever seen. Clementine, Skittles and Oscar wait with bated breath for their plastic enclosures to lift. Everyone places their bets, wondering who will win this year’s wiener dog race. A series of short races led to one final winner, a mixed breed winner, and a costume contest winner. But honestly, anyone who attended the Savannah Wiener Dog Races at Plant Riverside District this year was a winner. Just seeing so many of, in my opinion, one of the funniest breeds of dogs in one place was bound to bring a smile to everyone’s faces.
