1:28 p.m. — A Rawls Distributing van struck the gate arm at Barnard Village causing the gate arm to break off. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
2:45 p.m. — It was reported to security that a craftsman ratchet set and a Banksfield fabric swatch book were missing from Eckburg Hall. The items were last seen on Dec. 23, 2010 and were discovered missing on Jan. 3 2011.

5:16 a.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm at the Equestrian Center. The alarm was determined to be a false alarm and the system was reset.
2:25 p.m. — Security responded to a vehicle accident between a student and a Staples delivery truck at Fahm Hall. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
7:59 p.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm at the Equestrian Center. Security met the fire department on site and it was determined that the alarm was caused by moisture in a sensor box. Sonitrol was notified and a work order was issued.
8:40 p.m. — A resident advisor informed security of a student on Old Arch Bridge. The resident advisor stated that the student had been told he was not permitted in the dorm area. Security responded to the scene and the student departed without further incident.
9 p.m. — Security observed two students drive into Weston/Dyson with three cases of beer. A resident director responded and made the students dispose of the alcohol.
January 7
1:50 p.m. — A student reported to security that she lost her wallet containing her ID, cash and a gift card. She had last seen the items while out with friends on Drayton Street and she believed she must have been pick-pocketed. The student declined to file a police report.
January 8
4:30 p.m. — A student reported to security that $1, her license, three USAA cards, a credit card and military ID had been taken from her wallet. The student stated that she left her purse in her studio space at 1 p.m. and the items were missing when she returned at 2 p.m. She declined a police report.
6:37 p.m. — Two students reported that they had been mugged on Papy Street while walking from Turner House to Trustees Theater. The students were approached from behind by a young, armed male and told to give up their possessions. The male then fled the scene with the students’ IDs cell phones and cash and credit cards. Savannah-Chatham metro Police responded and issued a crime report.
8:14 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Abercorn Terrace. The alarm was determined to be a false alarm, as two guests in the room had disconnected the smoke detector. Sonitrol was called to respond to the scene to make repairs.
9:31 p.m. — A student reported to security that a mini Ipod had been taken from her unsecured vehicle while it was parked on Barnard Street between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The student declined to have a police report completed.
January 9
9:20 a.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Boundary Village. Security met the Savannah Fire Department at the scene and it was determined that the alarm was a false alarm. Sonitrol was notified and stated that they would have the system checked.
