The Savannah community congregated along Indian Street last Saturday from noon to midnight for the 7th Annual A-Town Get Down festival. Created in honor of SCAD student Alex “A-Town” Townsend who passed away in 2010, the outdoor event featured more than 25 live bands and visual artists spread across three separate stages.

Performers included Cracker, Bobby Rush, Col. Bruce Hampton, Snarky Puppy Horns, Low Country Voices, Old Salt Union, Walter Parks and the Savannah Children’s Choir.

This year, the festival partnered with Loop It Up Savannah to connect students from local Title I school districts to free access to interactive art and music projects.
