On Wednesday, May 6 the student center was filled with some of the literary talents and enthusiasts of SCAD at a reading of SCAD Artemis. Artemis. SCAD’s student literary journal, published almost 50 works by students. It is published annually and celebrated it’s 10th anniversary this year at the reading.

IMG_0738Professor Angela Brandt of the writing department and an editor for the publication acted as the master of ceremonines and welcomed the writers and readers of our literary arts. She addressed the audience and spoke on how she was exceedingly impressed with this volume.

“It’s so nice to hear these stories, these words out in the public,” said Brandt.

Sixteen of the published pieces were read out loud by 14 writers including poetry, fiction and nonfiction. Since Artemis’ creation, it has been one of the best places for undergraduates writers to see their work published within the school. Copies were available for all who came and writers stayed after and spoke with fellow students and staff. IMG_0678
