Police redirected traffic after a car accident took place outside of SCAD’s Bergen hall this morning. At about 10:50 a.m. a silver Scion ran through a stop sign at the intersection of MLK and Zubly streets and underneath a tractor-trailer. The Scion also hit two other cars before coming to rest in front of the Carlitos restaurant.

Police officers arrived on the scene to direct traffic and take statements. None of those involved received medical treatment or were taken to the hospital from the scene.

Jessica Tuszynski, a fourth-year graphic design major from Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania, saw the crash happen as she was walking past Bergen hall. “The car was smoking as if something was wrong with its brakes, but it sped out of the intersection and went underneath the tractor trailer, ” said Tuszynski.

Traffic was being redirected from Martin Luther King Boulevard and Broughton Street through Oglethorpe Street until the scene was cleared.
