College Security Report Feb. 21-27, 2011
February 21
9:58 a.m. — Security discovered graffiti on the Turner House elevators. Maintenance was notified of the damage.
11 a.m. — A student reported to security that his school project was missing from Gulfstream Center. The student stated that he had left the project at 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 and that it was missing upon his return at 11 a.m. on Feb. 21.
11:30 a.m. — A student reported to security that two pieces of wood that he was using for a project were missing from the Eichberg Sheds. The student stated that he last saw the wood at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 and that he noticed the items missing on Feb. 17.
1:30 p.m. — A student reported to security that her car window had been broken while the car was parked on 62nd Street between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 21. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
9:12 p.m. — A SCAD parent called security concerned about his son. The parent stated that the student acted strangely during a very recent phone call. Security contacted the on-call counselor and gave the student’s and the parent’s information for a follow up.
February 22
6:58 p.m. — A student reported to security that her bike had been stolen from Arnold Hall between 10:45 a.m. and 6:58 p.m. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
7:57 p.m. — A student reported to security that the back window of her car had been broken and that her iPod had been stolen from her car. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
8:20 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Turner Annex involving a student that cut her hand with a box cutter while working on a project. EMS responded to the scene but a friend transported the student to Memorial University Health Center.
February 23
7:45 a.m. — A student reported to security that her vehicle had been damaged by an unknown vehicle while she was parked at Oglethorpe House. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and gave the student a form to give to her insurance company.
10:30 p.m. — A student reported to security that he lost or misplaced his wallet. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
February 24
11:11 a.m. — Security responded to a medical call at Montgomery Hall in reference to a student experiencing extreme stomach pains. EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.
4:25 p.m. — Security responded to Hamilton Hall at the request of the on-call counselor to provide transport for the counselor and a student to York Hall.
February 25
12:12 p.m. — Security responded to a vehicle accident involving a student hitting a parked vehicle. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and issued a crime report.
3 p.m. — Security responded to Bergen Hall regarding an unknown male who was harassing students. The individual stated that he was asking students to call a cab for him and refused to leave the area. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the scene and escorted the man off site.
3:20 p.m. — Security discovered graffiti damage in the Turner House elevator. Maintenance was notified of the damage.
7:43 p.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Barnard Village. Security met the Savannah Fire Department at the scene and it was determined that the alarm was caused by a student cooking in the dorm. The alarm was silenced and reset.
February 26
4:55 a.m. — A student reported to security that he believed his laptop was stolen from his dorm. The student was able to make contact with another individual and the laptop was returned.
2:25 p.m. — Security received a report that a SCAD-Day guest accidentally damaged the wall at Adler Hall when they opened a door. Maintenance was notified of the damage.
2:30 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at St. Paul’s Gym in reference to a student that became overheated during a game. EMS responded to the scene but the student was not transported.
11 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at a room in Weston House in reference to a student suffering symptoms from a preexisting condition. The resident director arranged a cab ride to Memorial University Health Center for the student.
February 27
11:20 a.m. — Security responded to a “smoke” alarm at Pulaski House. Security determined that a student cooking in the dorm caused the alarm. The alarm was silenced and reset.
1 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at St. Paul’s Gym in reference to a student that was injured during a game. EMS responded to the scene and transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.
3 p.m. — Security responded to a medical call at St. Paul’s Gym in reference to a student injured during a game. A friend transported the student to Memorial University Medical Center.
5:15 p.m. — Security discovered a lower pane of glass broken on one of the first-floor doors at Turner Annex. ABM Janitorial Services and maintenance were notified to provide clean up and repair.
7 p.m. — A student reported to security that his bike had been stolen from Arnold Hall on Feb. 23. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to the student’s dorm and issued a crime report.
7:04 p.m. — Security responded to a “trouble” alarm at Montgomery Hall. A walk through of the building was conducted and the alarm was determined to be a false alarm and was reset.
