Matthew Mascotte, SCAD alumnus and staff member, died Feb. 25 at the age of 42 after his battle with cancer. Mascotte earned an MFA in film and television from SCAD and adjunct curator for the exhibitions department in 2003.
SCAD released a statement on the loss of Mascotte which read, “Matthew was deeply loved by so many: for his wisdom, his infectious enthusiasm for creative expression and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He enriched and elevated everyone who knew him, and he will be sorely missed.”
A Requiem Mass was held at 11 a.m. Feb 28 at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Community Outreach Fund, Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church.
