student-storage-options-in-Savannah

With move out rapidly approaching, it’s time to start thinking what to do with all the stuff you’ve accumulated over the last nine months at school. Storage in Savannah is easier said than done, however it is quite possible.

If you do not have access to a car, live on campus and intend on living on campus again next year, Campus Carriers may be a good choice for you. Campus Carriers is a service that will do nearly all the work for you, they even provide the boxes for you to pack. The Five Box Starter Package is a good place to start; it contains five large (24 in. x 18 in. x 16 in.) boxes and a roll of packing tape. Campus Carriers will pick-up your boxes and store them over the summer, then deliver them to your new home in the fall. This package is $349 and allows you to add awkward or over-sized items such as bicycles, fans and office chairs for an additional fee. If you choose to have your stuff dropped off away from campus in the fall, a $25 fee will be added for off-campus delivery.

A storage unit is an additional option from places like City Storage on River Street by Adler Hall. City Storage is a climate-controlled facility with units starting at $108 a month (5 ft. x 10 ft.) not including a $20 administrative fee. Additionally, City Storage accepts SCAD Card.

Continental Storage on 49th Street by Barnard Village is a convenient option for people living Midtown.

If you are able to drive a little bit to Chatham Parkway, other options are available. Coastal Self Storage starts at $50 a month (5 ft. x 7 ft.). Public Storage starts at $51 a month (5 ft. x 5 ft.) for a climate-controlled unit.

Climate control is important to consider when looking in Savannah, because the area gets very hot and humid during the summer.
