Fresh Advice: the best study spots around Savannah

Savannah is full of little nooks and crannies, perfect spots to snap an artsy Instagram photo or pause with a good novel. Some are historic and some are minimalist and modern, but all make for great spots to study. We took an in-depth look at the coffee shops and cafes across the city to tell you our favorite spots to study for the next big exam.
The Foundery Coffee Pub – Across the street from Anderson Hall
As a Methodist ministry, the Foundery hosts varying theological organizations and community events, encouraging community and learning. Students can take advantage of a reservation-only community room for group studying or club meetings. SCAD Bees can also enjoy a dirty hippie, john snow, soggy stardust and a handful of other creative drinks. Parking is conveniently available on the side of the building.

Foxy Loxy Cafe – Near Arnold Hall
Where iced horchata lattes meet spicy, fresh tacos, Foxy Loxy welcomes customers with a comfortable and contemporary space for studying, community and award-winning eats. As the only coffee shop in the area open until 11 p.m., this SCAD-alum owned shop accommodates late night work sessions. Foxy prides themselves in having a laid-back atmosphere and serving “the best coffee in Savannah (Perc Coffee)” according to a barista.

Mirabelle Cafe – A few blocks from Bradley Hall (Lafayette Square)
a turquoise exterior and Paris-inspired seating invites coffee and pastry lovers from all over Savannah to try Mirabelle’s Suites and Cafe’s trademark dessert: the leige Belgian waffle. Mirabelle’s provides a sweet change in scenery for the creative student with bar style seating and two different outdoor spaces. Located right across the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, students have a direct view of a historical townscape from this quaint cafe.

Savannah Coffee Roasters – Walking distance from the Hive, O-House
Enjoy Savannah Coffee Roaster’s drink of the day with a slice of pavlova (a cloud-like angel food cake topped with in-house made cream and berries) while utilizing large table space for hands-on projects. True coffee connoisseurs will delight at the smell of freshly brewed in-house coffee beans. This trendy shop also holds themed events weekly like “Game Night” (Tuesdays and Saturdays) and “Murder Mystery Night” (Fridays), open to the community.

Blends: a Coffee Boutique – near Jen Library
At this culturally diverse coffee shop, students can choose between six different beans and three different milks to customize their own authentic drink. Intimate seating, board games and its convenient location on Broughton Street makes Blends a modern space for studying and community.
