Join SCAD student media

SCAD Student media manages six student media outlets at the Savannah campus that allow students to express themselves, share news and inspiration while gaining valuable career skills. Student media alumni are following their passions at The New York Times, Disney, NPR, McKinsey & Company, HGTV and other media industry leading organizations.

Whether students write for District, the award-winning student news website, style fashion photo shoots for The Manor, the student fashion publication, or host a radio show for SCAD Radio, participants are surrounded by like-minded creatives who push each other to produce engaging content on ever-evolving media platforms. A professional staff member leads student media through training and long-term planning.

Interest meetings will be held on the following dates and times. All meetings will be held in the Oglethorpe House Ballroom, 201 W. Oglethorpe Ave.

An information session for Port City Review will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019, in the Oglethorpe House Ballroom. Sign up to receive more information.

Students may join a student media outlet at any point in the school year by attending weekly staff meetings. District meets at 5 p.m. on Sundays and 8 p.m. on Wednesdays. SCAD Radio meets at noon on Friday. The Manor meets at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. Regular meetings are held in the Student Media Center on the ground floor of Oglethorpe House. To inquire about joining other student media outlets, email the editors of Render Q, The HoneyDripper or the creative director of Port City Review. The editor of District can be emailed here; the editor of The Manor here; and the general manager of SCAD Radio here.

In addition to a robust slate of volunteer contributors, each student media outlet is led by a team of paid student editors and managers. Leadership positions are filled each fall. Each outlet’s primary leader, such as District’s editor-in-chief and SCAD Radio’s general manager, is chosen by the Student Media Advisory Council. Each student leader advertises, interviews and selects the remaining student leaders.
