Line-up announced for 2019 SCAD Savannah Film Festival

Today, The Savannah College of Art and Design announced the 2019 lineup for the 22nd annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival. Students have been waiting outside the Trustees Theater since midnight to purchase tickets for selected screenings. Early risers were handed ticket request forms around 9 a.m. this morning.

Last week 16 films were announced as Gala Screenings: “The Aeronauts,” “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” “Clemency,” “Harriet,” “A Hidden Life,” “Honey Boy,” “Just Mercy,” “Knives Out,” “Motherless Brooklyn,” “Pain and Glory,” “Parasite,” “Portrait of a Lady on Fire,” “The Report,” “Seberg,” “The Truth” and “Waves.”

Today the complete list for the 2019 line-up was released. This year’s events include:

October 26, 2019

  • Competition Film: “Well Groomed / Masters”
  • “Southern Voices”
  • “Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (if you’re a girl)”
  • Gala Screening: Portrait of a Lady on Fire
  • “Forrest Gump”
  • Gala Premiere: “The Aeronauts”

Danielle Macdonald will be honored with the Rising Star Award at 7:30 p.m.

October 27, 2019

  • Competition Film: “Sell By / The Neighbors’ Window”
  • Signature Screening: “Patti Cake$”
  • Competition Film: “Only / Whiteout”
  • Animation Corner: “Missing Link”
  • Gala Screening: “Harriet”
  • Gala Premiere: “Motherless in Brooklyn”

The Lifetime Achievement Award in Composing will be presented to Alan Silvestri at 6 p.m.
