SAC talent show auditions approach

Written by Kelsey Sanchez.

This Saturday, the Student Activities Council will be judging SCAD students for performance slots in their upcoming talent show.

Auditions for the annual talent show will be held on Saturday, 24 from 1 – 4 p.m. Auditions will be held on the second floor of the student center. Students who cannot make the audition due to a time conflict can contact activity@scad.edu for alternatives audition options. The annual SAC talent show will take place on April 21 in the Lucas Theatre and the winning act receives a cash prize.

For auditions or musical acts, audio and microphones will be provided, but please bring any specific AUX chords you may need if you bring an instrument. For singers and musicians, original songs and works are encouraged. Other performances—theatre, stand-up, dance routines—are all welcome. (Personally, I’d like to see a choreographed, lip sync performance of “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child.)

Each student will have 4 to 5 minutes to audition and the final set can run from 1-8 minutes if selected to perform at the final talent show at the Lucas Theatre.

Julia Chamberlin, music coordinator for the Student Activities Council, says, “Bring whatever you’re working with. We want entertaining groups that are fun for the crowd.”

Whether it’s a hidden talent or a skill you take pride in, it is accepted on the stage.
