SCAD prepares for second annual AnimationFest

After the success of last year’s event, SCADFilm has announced that the second annual AnimationFest will take place September 27-29 at the SCADshow theater in Atlanta.

The event will feature panel discussions and special preview screenings, giving students the exclusive opportunity to network with industry professionals and gain insight to the latest advancements in the animation world. The special guests scheduled to appear at the 2018 AnimationFest include:

  • Andrea Miloro, co-president, Twentieth Century Fox Animation
  • Mark McCray, author, “The Best Saturdays of Our Lives”
  • Christina Elefante, production coordinator, Sesame Workshop
  • Lisa LaBracio, animation director, TED-Ed
  • Franz Palomares, animation director, TED-Ed
  • Ashley Kohler, executive producer, Awesome Inc.
  • Joan Baker and Rudy Gaskins, co-founders, the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences
  • Tony Bancroft, director, “Mulan”

Students at the Savannah campus who are interested in attending the event can board day trip shuttles to SCADShow. The shuttles will depart from the Montgomery Hall parking lot at 6 a.m. and depart SCADShow around 9 p.m. after the last show of the evening. Students will be responsible for arranging and funding overnight accommodations.

To sign up for the shuttle, students need to send their full name, ID number and date they would like to attend the showcase to animation@scad.edu. Students must also sign the cross-campus transportation waiver prior to departure.
