Savannah Raines is a fourth-year illustration major at SCAD. She has played soccer since she was around 5 years old, and has been on the SCAD soccer team for all four years of her college career. This year’s season, however, has been canceled, so Raines had to find ways to deal with the sudden change in her schedule. She was among the few players from SCAD voted to go to the leadership council and was expected to go to Nationals this year. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, she said she didn’t allow herself to become discouraged. Raines and a few of her SCAD teammates joined a separate league during the fall where they could continue to play and practice their skills.
