Matt Kastritis is a fourth-year graphic design student at SCAD. He has played tennis for eight and a half years and has been on the SCAD tennis team for three after joining in the fall of his second year. With the cancellation of the season, Kastritis has found more time to focus on himself as a player without the stress of competition. The disruption of normal athletic seasons lead to the unexpected positive outcome of allowing athletes to get back to just enjoying the sport without any pressure. “I don’t mind not competing against other teams anymore,” said Kastritis, “I [still] go to the Forsyth tennis courts every now and then to hit with my teammates.” To Kastritis, there are still ways to grow as an athlete even without his regular scheduled matches.
