Spooky Scavenger Hunt: Savannah’s best Halloween decor

Written by Madisyn Welborn, Photographs by Madisyn Welborn

There’s no question as to why Savannah is one of the best places to be during the Halloween season. With ghost tours, haunting histories and spooky Spanish moss around every corner, it’s nearly impossible to avoid that festive feeling. However, if you’re not quite there yet, head out on a hunt to find some of the best-decorated spots in the downtown area!

Bones are brought to life, and it looks like they’re headed out to party early this year! Head down Drayton St. near Victory Village to spot skeletons galore scaling a pastel rainbow house.

Big fan of Halloween movies? Feel like you could make it to the end? For my fearless friends, it seems Michael Myers is on the lookout for his next victim at the corner of Henry and Ott St.

If you’re looking for the perfect mix of Savannah’s historic beauty and Halloween spirit, head over to the “prettiest street” in the city. Still can’t find it? Check out the homes near Art’s Cafe and look for a surprise inside an iron gate.

Are you missing that one Halloween overload that takes the season over-the-top? Take off from Sand, Surf and Sail towards Target for a home with blowups, bats and a black cat you can’t miss!

Got Arachnophobia (a.k.a. spider fear)? You might want to skip this home by Chatham Residence Hall. If not and you’re down to see some eight-legged friends, check the corner of Abercorn and East Hall St. and look up to the top window for a ghostly sight!
