Fashion Weekend at SCAD comes once a year, and this spring in addition to the pinnacle event, the SCAD Savannah Runway Show, there were two additional displays Thursday May 17 to Saturday May 19. The Jewelry Trunk Show ran from Thursday, May 17 to Friday, May 18 while the Fashion Static Showcase opened Friday, May 18 through Saturday May 19.

The two events complemented the Runway Show by devoting a space to those pieces not featured in the Runway Show and offering free admission to students who were unable to attend the event as well as for the public to savor.

The Jewelry Trunk Show featured breathtaking jewels and shining metals handcrafted by the schools very own students, professors, and alumni. All pieces were mindfully laid out for those in attendance to behold, try on, and purchase in the lower lobby of the Jen Library. The showcase included pieces of couture jewelry which featured precious jewels donated to the department for student designs.

Coruscating pieces studded the bright Gutstein Gallery space from one corner to the next, presenting the highest level of innovation on behalf of  Fashion and Accessory Design students. Handmade, unimaginable concepts and unforeseen materials left the gallery exploding with liveliness and vibrancy.
