Briefs, News Sep 05th The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Department (SCMPD) urges drivers on Wilmington and Tybee Islands to use extreme caution while driving today if the massive power outage continues. The outage began during a thunderstorm around 1 a.m., disrupting power for all areas of Isle of Armstrong eastward. SCMPD is attempting to erect stop signs or direct traffic where lights are out, but do not have the resources to address every intersection. Drivers are reminded that intersections without traffic lights should be treated as four-way stops. Georgia Power Co. repair crews are working towards a resolution but are not able to provide an estimate on when the power can be restored.
