The Savannah Greek Festival celebrates 71 years of sharing Greek culture

The 71st annual Greek Festival took place last weekend on Oct. 6-8. Hosted by the Hellenic Community Center, the weekend was full of activities such as church tours, greek dancing, entertainment acts, shopping and dining.

Through the Savannah Greek Festival, the local Greek community and members of the Greek Orthodox Church had the opportunity to share Greek culture with Savannah. Outdoor stands sold clothes and jewelry, while the demonstration stand educated festival-goers on historic Greek culture. Inside, items from Greece were sold, such as packaged goods, tourist items and a variety of delicious traditional baked goods and hot foods.
